1360. The King of France, John II, is prisoner of the English. The armies of the Prince of Wales also called the Black Prince, and eldest son of the King of England Edward III occupy a good part of the kingdom of France. Thierry de Janville, a young Sologne lord, resists the English, and decides to deliver his king. But his steward, Messire Florent de Clouseaules, thinks to get his hands on his land and he denounces him to the English. Prisoner in his own castle, but knowing the place well, it does not take him long to escape with the help of an outlaw. Thus goes the fame of Thierry la Fronde, so named because of his favorite weapon. He travels through the forest and gathers, at random encounters, a band of companions desperate to help him in his task.
