Ling Jiushi is a gaming expert; and a former game designer who once dreamt of creating a Chinese game that would change the world. However due to various difficulties, he has given up on his dream. One day, he discovers a game that has taken the international world by storm - "Ling Jing". It was originally created by a Chinese game designer, but due to the injection of foreign capital, gore and violence elements were added to the game. This caused players to develop depression, mental illnesses and even caused some to committ suicide. Now that this game has entered the Chinese market, Ling Jiushi wants to destroy it. In order to understand more about the game, Ling Jiushi was accidentally brought into the game. Inside the game exists 12 doors; and there he met Ruan Lanzhu whom quickly became his close friend. Together they experience the various possibilities of life.
