The Long Way Back

Commissioned by the National Radio and Television Administration to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, this series is penned by acclaimed screenwriters Gao Mantang, Li Li, Ru Sheng, and Li Zhou, with directors Zang Xichuan and Zhao Yang at the helm. Through the lens of ordinary resistance fighters' growth, it reflects the 14-year nationwide struggle following the "September 18 Incident," highlighting the most arduous chapter of the Communist Party-led Northeast Anti-Japanese United Forces and the people's relentless fight against Japanese imperialist invasion.
