Shortly before the collapse of the USSR, Marina and Ivan Happy have triplets and begin life in the long-awaited separate apartment number 13. But the hungry 90s are coming, and the mood in the family is no longer rosy. Ivan, a young and promising candidate of sciences, is forced to become a tutor while Marina earns money on the market. And then 2012 comes, filled with the energy of a new time. How to start a life from scratch, build a career, and most importantly, win back the love of a wife whose feelings are clouded by domestic problems, innuendos, and old grudges? The pain of losing one of the children still makes itself felt, as does the mystery of the death of Ivan's mistress, Raisa, who lived next door. Will the Happy Ones be able to find happiness again, and will Raisa's daughter be able to find out the truth 13 years after her mother's death?
